                    Permanent Nannies

Permanent nannies usually have formal qualification within the childcare sector and years of hands on experience.
They are employed to provide education and care for your children as well as to stimulate your childrens physical, intellectual and emotional growth through play and activities. This is done in the in the nurturing and loving environment of your own home.  Many nannies work in a "sole charge" position, which means that the parents/caregivers of the children are not at home.

A nanny's duties are many and varied. They can consist of  playing, singing, reading, art and craft, outings to the park,  library or other child-friendly, fun and educational places, preparing meals for  children and sometimes the rest of the family, washing for the children and the  family, bathing, getting ready for bed, homework help, taking to various  sporting and musical activities and keeping the childrens things and rooms  tidy.

A nanny's role and responsibilities are unique to each and every  family and Poppins will help you to define their
role and details of their  employment when the time comes.

                    Casual Nannies and Babysitters

A casual nanny is available at short notice to help you with short term and /or emergency childcare needs. There are numerous reasons you may need a casual nanny. It could be for you and your partner to have a night out away from the kids, to fill in for the regular nanny if she get's sick or to look after the sick kids at home if they can't go to daycare or school.

Their duties are the same as a permanent nanny, however, due to the short period of time spent with one family, they
may not have the opportunity to perform the same tasks. Casual nannyies and babysitters generally focus on caring for your children and therefore they should only partake in light domestic duties as long as they do not conflict with the responsibility of caring for your child.

                    Mummy Nanny

A mummy nanny is an experienced nanny with her own child/ren. Families not only get a qualified, experienced, mature nanny, but one that is also a mum. This arrangement can be of a benefit to your child/ren as they will gain a built-in playmate, having a child of a similar age to share and interact with. These nannies are  professionals and treat their charges and own children equally.

Another benefit of  hiring a mummy nanny is a reduction in cost due to the nanny bringing along their own child.

                    Before and After School Care

Our nannies will make sure that your ability to get out the door in the morning is made easier. Before school carers assist the kids with breakfast, dressing and dropping them off. They can also ensure that children make the most of any planned after school activities. Transporting them to and from appointments, music and other lessons, sporting activities, assisting with homework, and preparing nutritious after-school snacks are just a few of the things they can undertake for your little ones. They bring the children home, give them afternoon tea and supervise homework. They can cook a basic meal for the children and have them bathed and in their pyjamas for when you return home.

                    Mothers Helper

A mother’s helper is someone who serves as a parent's “right-hand person”. They are generally not qualified and will work alongside the parent's to gain experience. They are generally paid less than nannies.

This role involves helping the mother or father with the day to day running of the household and family.  A Mother's Helper is great for mothers (or fathers) who need an extra pair of hands around the house, due to the arrival of a new baby, when the mum is working from home or just to keep on top of the daily duties involved in running and managing a busy household.
